A single cask Mortlach. This was distilled in September 1997 and aged for 12 years in sherry butt number 6074 before bottling in April 2010. A release of 330 bottles, bottled by Douglas Laing.
Nose: Spicy and rich nose. Lots of nutmeg, sherry and cinnamon. A little sticky toffee pudding and some thick malty notes.
Palate: Big, opens on malt, then develops with toffee, custard, apple strudel style gooey sultanas and a big hit of top quality, sweet spices.
Finish: Gives new meaning to the term "long finish", just goes on forever with butterscotch and hints of toasty, charred oak.
