A special release from Bruichladdich for the 2010 Islay Festival, this was distilled in 2004 and aged in a fresh sherry butt (cask number 1667) before bottling as part of an outturn of 1060 50cl bottles. Each is individually numbered. This bottle is an homage to Richard Macaire who passed away in 2010. Richard was the laird of Foreland and Kentraw.
Nose: Nutty with notes of burnt sugar and digestive biscuits. Butterscotch, then custard, mixed nuts and plenty of spice.
Palate: Bit tiramisu notes, and plenty of sherry, spices and good fruit. Maybe a touch of Brandy de Jerez.
Finish: Very spicy, good length and hints of smoke.
