Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is quite thick and rich with notes of honeycomb and toffee. There are some notes of dried peels and notes of marmalade with a malty texture. The palate is full-bodied with a silken delivery. Notes of heather roots and cut grasses, honeyed oak notes with winter spices; cinnamon and cloves. There are some acacia honey notes. The finish is long and developing with notes of dry oak and a gentle, weaving smoke.

Scapa 16 Year Old Reviews

Best kept secret in Whisky

If you can get it and you like a lovely honey smooth whisky then this is the stuff for you. Beautiful dram

A most pleasant surprise

It was the only bottle in a South Carolina liquor store, on sale for a $95 close-out price. They can't have known what they had. Absolutely magnificent dram and my new favourite whisky.

Enjoy

Such a shame, just finished this exciting wee dram, go’s well with like minded friends, as I am from the Speyside area and appreciate a decent dram. I highly recommend buying a bottle and enjoy

Scapa price increase

I have 7 bottles in boxes hidden away gathering dust and going up in price seems to go up by about £30 a year and not slowing the more that gets drunk the more the price creeps up

Superb whiskey, would drink it anytime.

I'm not much of a whiskey drinker but this was my favorite. I would always buy a bottle when it came up on sale. Everyone I know loved seeing it at gatherings. It stood up against anything else in the price range. Can't imagine why the distillery would discontinue it.

Classic, subtle whisky

Genuinely one of my favourite tipples, thought it was a delicate whisky with a great nose and some really subtle flavour - can’t believe a) its discountinued b) selling for £200! Having seen off a fair few bottles back in the day when it was £60 I am sad to see it’s will now be out of most people’s price range

Finest, smoothest whisky ever.

The finest whisky I have ever tasted bar none. I have only ever had 2 bottles of this beautiful stuff, and had I known at the time that it would be discontinued, I would never have emptied both bottles with such gluttonous pleasure. To find out now that its knocking on £200 quid a bottle, far outwith my budget is soul destroying. Enjoy you lucky lot who can afford this tipple.

The best ever

Probably the best ever. Disappointed that it has been discontinued.

Mr Tsimane Papane

One of the best I have ever tasted so far. Pity the distillery ran out of stock! They need to rethink the marketing to get enough bottles out.

Bueno pero nada del otro mundo

Comparado con otros single malts, incluso con blend de maltas como el JW Green, no tiene mucho mas para ofrecer. Honestamente me quedo con un Glenkinchie 12 o un JW Green.
