Ferry to Islay 2017 Bottling Note

The ferry over to the Island of Islay never ends for true whisky enthusiasts - it's a journey you'll want to make throughout your life, and Samaroli agree. After becoming inspired to create this blend by a ferry to Islay some years ago, the classic release is now in its third bottling. This is a unique blended malt, featuring exclusively the whisky of Islay. It was bottled in June 2017 at 55.1% ABV, with just 320 bottles of 700ml size.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Well-roasted barley, butterscotch, fennel seed and white grapes rise through ash and tobacco leaf.

Palate: Medicinal peat smoke develops alongside cured meat, honey'd fruit and rich buttery vanilla cake.

Finish: A good length, the medicinal peat smoke maintains and carries notes of dark chocolate and dried apple.
