Rock Town - TBWC #1 Bottling Note

The first batch of Rock Town Bourbon Whiskey bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company might very well have the most rock-and-roll label from the whole range, which is saying something when other labels include sharks fighting velociraptors, zombie hoards and hammer-wielding-island-spirits. It sees Rock Town Distillery's founder Phil Brandon seemingly summoning lighting from the Arkansas sky to strike his whiskey barrels to give them appropriate levels of char. Is he Zeus in his spare time? We may never know...

Batch 1 is a release of 65 bottles.

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains, blended malts, blends and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic-novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Chewy caramels, apple pencil sweeties and dark chocolate truffles. Vegetal hints start to cut through the sweetness after a minute, making way for waves of barrel char and vanilla.

Palate: Toffee apples and white pepper play off each other, with fragrant fresh oak bringing more spice. Tobacco notes develop on the mid palate.

Finish: More tobacco and sugary fudge. A little hint of salted caramel too.

Overall: Rock and roll! Yeah!
