Rittenhouse Straight Rye Reviews

Easy to Overlook

I've found it hard to go back to this bottling after the 100 proof but it is lovely and easily the best rye available for the price.

Session rye

Good value for money Rye with a delicate aromatic spice, dark chocolate, orange blossom, brown sugar, menthol & vanilla toffee wafer combo. Not as complex or rich as the 100% proof version but a good everyday rye in cocktails or on its own as an easy drinkin sippin on the porch dram. The Whisky Flaneur

Great sipping bourbon

Bought a bottle on a whim - excellent taste, smooth with some spice it makes for a relaxing drink without too much of a 'head' the following day.

Brilliant

A wonderfully easy Rye. Rittenhouse is smooth and delicious. Serve with one lump of ice and enjoy. Perfect

Loved this Rye

I first tried Rittenhouse Rye at the Blythswood Hotel's cocktail bar in Glasgow where it is used as the base for 'The Blythswood' cocktail - their signature old fashioned. I enjoyed it so much I sought out a bottle back home in Aberdeen and thoroughly loved it, both in old fashioned form or simply poured over a single large chunk of ice.

you can tell I didn't get it from MoM (due to being out of stock) but I did buy a bottle of the 100 proof version from this site - also highly recommended!!

Love this for what it is - dark sugar sweetness and a kick that is enjoyed slowly with ice.
