Redbreast 12yo B1/17 Bottling Note

Another edition of the Redbreast 12 Year Old Cask Strength? Don't mind if we do! Delicious, well-Sherried Irish single pot still whiskey from the ever-popular Redbreast stable, this time bottled at a robust 58.2% ABV.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Redcurrants, milk chocolate, a touch of oak char, apple turnovers fresh from the oven.

Palate: Jelly Tots, brown sugar, extra-thick double cream, rum-soaked Christmas cake and a good whack of cardamom.

Finish: Long and enjoyably fruity with a hint of flamed orange peel right at the end.

Redbreast 12 Year Old Cask Strength - Batch B1/17 Reviews

HAS POTENTIAL, BUT TOO DEAR!

Very good, but! Cask-Strength spirit needs a long time in wood to mellow and soften out the harsh edges. 12 years is not enough in the U.K. This is WELL over-priced for its age and needs at least another 3 years.

Excellent sipper

This bottle just keeps getting better over time, glad I bought a second to save. This is a whisky to savor and take your time with. The nose is enjoyable, the taste is thick and rich. I add a touch of water part way through and it brings out more complexity. Worth the money.
