Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Sweet and smoky oak, barley sugar, nutmeg spices, zesty citrus and green apple.

Palate: Oodles of honey and more barley sugar, spicy gingerbread and fresh orange notes.

Finish: Lengthy, soft and smooth with sweet oak and honey, ever so slightly spiced.

Pure Scot Virgin Oak 43 Reviews

Pure Scot VO43 has depth, legs and finish like a pedigree race horse

I was very surprised by the fresh, sweet and enticing aromas on the nose, blasts of barley mixed
with deep oak undertones, very moreish. Not sure how old the blends are within the PS VO43 but found the sweetness carries through but with deep oak or buttered mushrooms, very easy to drink. I was tasting this alongside another blend within this price range £30-£50 the Selkie from the House of Macduff another really nice whisky. The Selkie blended malt scotch has a higher ABV bigger punch on the mid pallet, much deeper flavours less sweetness and I liked both very much but the PS VO43 is a winner for me. The finish within the PS VO43 stays for sometime, mmm sometime and moretime and i can see why it won Gold... I am ordering another bottle today PS VO43 is a smashing whisky. Just proves a bottle does not need a relic or cost £££ to be a good whisky.
