Old Pulteney Dunnet Head Bottling Note

Dunnet Head is another tasty travel retail bottling from the Old Pulteney range, once again named after Scottish lighthouse - this one was built in 1831 by Robert Stevenson (Grandfather of Robert Louis Stevenson, the famous author). The whisky itself is made using spirit drawn from both American and European oak casks, with a focus on the flavour profile's balance.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Cacao nibs, cheesecake and a little touch of toasty oak.

Palate: Balance is indeed the name of the game here - mellow caramel and sweet sherry notes in equal measures, with a waft of sea breeze keeping it from becoming cloying.

Finish: Vanilla rich and very long.

Old Pulteney Dunnet Head Reviews

Exquisitely sweet and smooth. Honey caramel, and sherry, with some heat

Great aroma and Finnish

Absolutely one of the best I've ever had, picked up a bottle at the duty free in Glasgow after visiting the distillery.
I was a bit disappointed they did not have the 21 or 17 year old available but this is well worth the price of admission
