Old Pulteney Clipper Bottling Note

Commemorating the Clipper 2013-14 Round the World Yacht Race, because of course Old Pulteney was a sponsor (they just can't get enough of everything maritime), the Highlands distillery have released a special edition single malt. It has been matured in a mix of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry cask whisky, which has been bottled without chill-filtration or artificial colours.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Creamy with vanilla and cocoa. Apple pie and fruit cake.

Palate: More fruit cake, with plenty of crystallised orange peels in the mix. Runny honey. Sea breeze.

Finish: A long finish, the coastal air lasting.

Overall: After coming back from a round the world sail, this wouldn't be a bad dram is enjoy the dry land with.

I was bought this limited edition as a gift and have to say how nice it is as the other reviewer says its one you can easily wander off and have a few

Smooth and light

I like to buy limited editions as you never know what you'll get and have had some pleasant surprises. I found this to be a very smooth and refreshing dram, you can easily wander off and have a few. The "runny honey and sea breeze" sums it up pretty well for me. Nice when you want to get away from some of the heavier malts.
