Port Ellen 34yo #11481 Bottling Note

Another knockout Douglas Laing bottling for the Xtra Old Particular range, this Port Ellen 34 Year Old was distilled in May of 1982, before it was charged from one refill hogshead cask and bottled November 2016.

So, let's get all the facts straight here. We have at MoM towers, a single cask, of natural colouring, without chill-filtration, Port Ellen single malt Scotch whisky, distilled over 30 years ago and bottled by Douglas Laing.

Now, what on earth are you waiting for?

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Over earthy peat comes thick, blackberry jam, flamed orange peel and black wine gums. A complex, but not overwhelming nose reveals honey'd BBQ'd meat, pain au chocolat, fresh leather and sweet barley.

Palate: Opulent and refined, raspberry almond torte, melting toffee pennies and charred pineapple form a varied palate. Among the lingerings embers is oily barley, rich mulch and earthy oak.

Finish: Toasted brown sugar, rosemary pound cake and tobacco ash see us out dutifully.
