Port Ellen 30 Year Old 1982 - Old and Rare (Douglas Laing)

Port Ellen '82 Old & Rare Bottling Note

A marvellous and decidedly rare Port Ellen distilled in 1982 and aged for a massive 30 years in a single refill hogshead before bottling in 2012 for Douglas Laing's premium Old and Rare Platinum Selection.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose A very zesty sherbet lemon aroma with hints of chamois leather and gentle peat smoke.

Palate Gingerbread dough and fresh squeezed lemon with a coastal saltiness.

Finish The peat picks up on the finish with hints of spice.

Overall This independent bottling is remarkably good, and is reminiscent of official bottlings.
