Port Dundas 40yo 1978 Bottling Note

If you love well-matured single grain, you're in for a treat here - it's a 40 year old expression from Port Dundas! This whisky was distilled back in January 1978 and left to mature in a single refill hogshead before being bottled four decades later in December 2018. A very small release of 92 bottles, presented as part of Douglas Laing's fab Xtra Old Particular range.

Tasting Note by The Producer

Nose: The nose has notes of freshly baked gingerbread cake, golden syrup, melted butter and polished wood.

Palate: Expect apple and oat crumble on the palate, with flapjacks and lemon cake alongside a wonderfully oily character.

Finish: The finish is medium-long with juicy barley, runny Scottish honey and a moreish drying quality.
