Port Dundas 14yo #13134 Bottling Note

Though the stills of the Port Dundas Distillery have fallen silent, the whisky they produced can still be enjoyed thanks to independent bottlers. Douglas Laing has bottled up a single cask single grain from Port Dundas for its Old Particular series, so you can get a little glimpse of what this closed distillery was all about! The whisky was distilled back in July 2004 and left to age in a refill barrel for 14 years, and was then bottled in April 2019 with an outturn of 393 bottles.

Port Dundas 14 Year Old 2004 (cask 13134) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing) Reviews

I made a very good choice.

I bought this for my Partner for his birthday. It was intended as an extra to the peaty whisky I had already bought but he absolutely loves it. I shall be buying it again and looking at the way it is going down I don't think it will be long before I do!

Like your favourite dessert

Spectacular value when snapped up in the sale at 29 quid! A drop of water opens this up nicely to reveal a thick chewy slab of caramel with a subtle hint of milk chocolate in the finish. Gorgeous stuff and blows a lot of similarly priced single malts out the water if you're willing to take a punt on a grain whisky in a smaller bottle size!

A GEM OF A GRAIN

OOOFT - THIS IS SPECTACULAR. THOUGHT GRAIN HAD TO BE OLDER THAN 13 / 14 BUT THIS IS A BEAUT. THE STYLE IS RICH WITH LOTS OF SWEET SPICES, VANILLA AND EXOTIC FRUITS.
