Douglas Laing extends its tip top range of single cask bottlings with this single grain gem from closed distillery Port Dundas. Distilled in July 2004 and bottled 12 years later, this expression spent its maturation life in a refill barrel, and is both non-chill filtered and presented at natural colour. Single grain as it should be!
Nose: Super sweet and delectably aromatic, the nose is reminiscent of an old-school sweet shop with loads of boiled sweets, white chocolate mice and Custard Cream biscuits.
Palate: More confectionery, plus honey, hedgerow berries and custard doughnuts.
Finish: Medium length with hints of sweet spices and creamy vanilla.

Nice sweeter whisky , good strength. I found a little water (only a drop) really helped the flavour develop. Neat it was a bit bland

This is a very pale and quite sweet single malt. My wife liked it, which is unusual for her as her usual tipple is gin!I enjoyed it as an unpretentious drinking malt which will be easy to drink and would probably be good in the summer.
