Sorry about this...

We can't actually ship Penderyn Rich Oak (Old Bottling) to the United States at the moment (although we're working hard to fix that).

In the meantime, our friends over at The Whisky Shop might be able to help you out.

Thank you for your support and understanding 🙂

Penderyn Rich Oak (Old) Bottling Note

With lots of vanilla, fruit (think green apple and banana) and burst sugar notes, this is a rather generous single malt Welsh whisky from Penderyn. It was drawn from three specially selected casks from the distillery, chosen by Master Distiller Dr. Jim Swan. The Penderyn Rich Oak is presented at 50% ABV, though it can withstand a couple drops of water.

Penderyn Rich Oak (Old Bottling) Reviews

Very nice

Very nice. No burnt oak or TCP here. You can smell the fruit and it has a sweet but not a syrup taste. The higher vol 50% is a bit harsher than the portwood but I still prefer without water. The oak taste is a subtle final flavour before the next sip.

Good stuff but a tad bitter

From Rejuvenated casks. The nose is quite intense for Penderyn with toffee, caramel and coffee. Some background fruit with banana can be coaxed out with a little water. The taste is of fruit at first- Unripe banana and some pear. This is then overcome by an oaky bitterness that water can't really tame, with tannins, coffee and some char. The finish continues the bitter theme with more coffee and lots of bitter tannins.
