Old Fitzgerald 1960s Bottling Note

This is a bottle of Very Old Fitzgerald, bottled at 50% abv after eight years' maturation… at some point in the 1960s. So one might refer to this as Very, Very Old Fitzgerald. Tantalising. It has some stains on the box, but we can assure you these are not suspicious in any way, and otherwise the bottle is sealed and in great condition.

Very Old Fitzgerald

Stitzel Weller closed and did not become Buffalo Trace.

1960's Old Fitzgerald

If this is truly a 1960's bottle it would not have been Heaven Hill Distillery but Stitzler Weller. We know it today as Buffalo Trace.

Archie Fitzgerald Sr.

My dad had several bottles when I was a kid, but when he died in the 90's there was one bottle that said on it "Bottled Expressly for Archie Fitzgerald". I have kept it in the safe until today. For some reason, I decided it was time... I dug it out and tried a couple fingers on ice. It is smooth, but with taste... I would say $300 is a deal
