A rye-rich Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 50.5% ABV. The Old Charter brand has been around since the late 1800s, so when you read on the bottle that it was distilled "using the old, time-proven method", you know that it is indeed pretty darn classic. Because the mash-bill is rye-rich, it's got a pleasantly spicy character, alongside the honey, vanilla and sugar-coated nut notes. Charter 101 sure does make fast friends with a couple ice cubes and a cool evening.

1 liter bottle for 27 euros at a local shop, very good for the price. It's like having a strawberry fruit cake with burnt sugar and some fresh sawdust sprinkled on top, and I mean that in a good way.
