Nikka All Malt Reviews

Smoky with a sweet finish, pairs good with a mild cigar

Very good entry into Japanese whisky. Smooth, smoky with a sweet finish pairs good with a mild flavoured cigar, the smoky start and the smoke from the cigar cancel each other out and they bring all the notes from both to life.

King of the Blends?

I'm finding it difficult to find a better blended whiskey than the All Malt. Tis a worthy whiskey and for the price it packs a wallop. Very taste, easy on the taste buds and smooth as.

Hard to beat for this price - Incredible whiskey, Beautiful stuff!

Amazing whiskey, massive flavour and punch, what a beauty!

Decreased quality.

A clear decrease in quality compared with earlier bottles I've had a few years ago. Too young, spirity, burnt on the nose. The taste is perhaps a little bit better, but way behind other malt whisky's in this price range. Will not buy again.

Inital smoke, velvety finish, very good price

I am and always have been a fan of Islay malts and had chance upon this bottle as i took upon myself to understand the fuss on Japanese blends. It blew my mind away.

A great entry point whisky

If you're look for an entry into Japanese whisky, this and 'Nikka Blended Whisky' are excellent value entry points that are affordable and worth every penny to the last drop. Start your journey with these two and I'm confident the palette will be appetising for more of what Japan has to offer. They know their stuff, offer something unique, refined and a want for more.

Makes Scotch look like it´s gone bad.

Takes the blend whiskes to a higher level. Smooth and very tasty. When you put feeling into it, this is the result.
very very good Japan.
I thought it imossible to rate a blend higher than 7, but .......

Undermatured single malt

Tastes like no age cheap blended

Light but not without depth

A lovely surprise. I'm a recent convert to Japanese single malts, and this blend is really quite special. Smooth, light, but complex too - many tastes cross the palate - nuts, light fruit, wood, with a wonderful, almost lotus flower fragrance. Tastes bring to mind a Japanese tea garden after the rain. At this price too it's impossible not to buy, and try

Well Rounded Dram

A very well presented malt blend at a great price. Just what effect the unique 'Coffey Still' malt distillation process has is unclear but the end result is a very well-rounded dram with plenty of complexity and good flavour. I would love to taste it at 48% ABV but you can't have everything.

Too cheap

This is an absolute bargain. It is a very well rounded sweet, smooth and tasty little number. Very easy to drink and at this price it can easily be overlooked. Dont hesitate to buy this. Its just so easy to drink. Very enjoyable,

Ooops... forgot my rating

Yep, again forgot to click the stars...... review above.

The price is a joke.... The bottle might be awful.....

But seriously - who buys whiskey and just looks at it?!!
At nearly £20 cheaper than Hibiki and Yamazaki 12yo this is a serious, serious whiskey of all time contender. I very nearly didn't buy this because of the bottle and assuming it would be nowhere near as nice as the two other Japanese whiskeys named above. The cellar man assured me this needed to be tried. A sample was had, then another just for good measure... and decision made... Really Really close to being as nice as the other Japanese whiskeys.
In my Whiskey Awards... approx. £30 a bottle range. The winners are this Green Spot and Balvenie. Jason Breen

Malt Mates' Delight

Has the usual bourbony sweetness with some banana! Yeah. Brown sugar and cinnamon on the nose. More luxurious and full than the ABV would lead one to expect.

In the mouth the All Malt cuts loose brown sugar, cactus nectar, cacao, barley of course, cashews, and last but not least, SHERRY.

Cactus nectar, cask wood, dark chocolate, and maple tree sap (not syrup).

All told, this dram will float your boat. It's sea worthy.
