Muckle Flugga Single Malt Bottling Note

A single malt Scotch whisky from the Muckle Flugga range, named after a small island in the Shetland Islands. The whisky (which comes from the Speyside region) is aged in "first-use Sherry oak casks", and are then taken up to the remote archipelago to age for another year, experiencing the harsh seasons before being returned to the mainland for bottling. The range is known for their blended malt expression.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Ripe orchard fruits, dried raisins, rich honey and touches of sweet Sherry.

Muckle Flugga Single Malt Reviews

Delicious

A beautifully sherried whisky. Delicious. It reminds me very much of that other travelled whisky - Nomad. Keep up the good work.

Loved it.

Lovely, smooth tipple. I'm a big sherry finish fan so I was curious to savour it, given its intriguing ageing process.

“Over Wintered”?

Can anyone please explain what these two words mean? No age statement I can see and nothing to say it wasn’t chill-filtered or given a caramel tan. Honest opinions on this whisky? x

Which archipelago?

Very much doubt if the “remove archipelago” is anywhere near Muckle Flugga!

worth every penny!!

Great stuff!!

Been looking for a while for this stuff after tasting in a bar in Shetland and bought some to keep and drink.

Surely future investment and collectors bottles with limited numbers too!
