Perhaps the most intriguing release from the first batch of Midleton's Method and Madness whiskeys, this is a single pot still expression initially matured in Sherry and bourbon barrels, before enjoying a finishing period in French chestnut! Exciting stuff.
Very tasty SPS, complex, interesting and rewarding bottle.
I’ve been blown away by the simple but yet complexity of this whiskey. On the pallet it delivers wave after wave of distinct flavours which don’t seem to want to give up. The finish is long, warming and like they say, red liquorice laces! Definitely need to get another brace of these. One for the cabinet and one for the collection.
Bittles, Belfast. Fruity, rich, complex, you can really feel the red licorice.
This is a truly marvelous pot stilled whiskey. Its excellent to see what can be achieved when the shackles of being limited to finishing in oak casks has been lifted. It will also be interesting to see what Midleton have in mind for the chestnut casks now?????
This is absolutely outstanding, I look forward to future M & M releases
