McGuinness 1971 Bottling Note

This is a bottle of McGuinness Canadian Whisky, presented in a bottle shaped like the CN Tower. Interestingly, this collectible piece was produced in 1971, two years before they even started building the tower! Makes you wonder, did the design for the bottle inspire the shape of the building, or the other way around? (Almost certainly the other way around.)

McGuinness CN Tower Canadian Whisky - 1971 Reviews

Love it too!

My father, Ron Brynaert, designed this bottle in the early 70's. My father was a designer and he had artists draw his ideas. I was with him on one of his meetings and I remember him telling the artist, "make it taller"! He had the wooden prototype for the bottle, but it was lost in a move. :( He did many labels for the McGuinness Company, including the tear drop liqueur bottle labels (these have changed over time). He created a small recipe book using the liqueurs and I still have a copy of the book.
