MacPhail's 1951

MacPhail's 1951 Bottling Note

A 39 year old single malt from a secret distillery, matured in Elgin in Gordon and MacPhail's own warehouses. This was matured in refill sherry casks and is a great, classic Speyside malt.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is thick and fruity with notes of fruit salad, a touch of honeydew melon and a pine resin, a note of fresh herbs a touch of sherry. The palate is surprisingly delicate with a beautiful balance. There are notes of soft peat smoke and toasty oak, a touch of nectarine and plum with winter spice and sultanas. The finish is of medium-length with chewy sultanas and smoke.
