Macleod's Islay 8 YO Bottling Note

A peaty 8 year old Single Malt from a secret Islay, bottled by Ian Macleod as an introduction into malt whisky.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is quite smoky, there are some lovely maritime notes, the peat is quite evident though a little spirity. The palate is quite full and well-balanced. There are notes of sultanas, mixed peels, peat smoke and kelp. The oak develops with marked aridity, continuing into the finish with more smoke.

RE: Islay lover

This IS a genuine Islay whisky.
Although i think it could use 2-4 more years to reach excellence, this is a very good young Islay.
Not in the top section of the islay malts but a low priced malt to be enjoyed as a more "core" islay malt.

If not an Islay lover

Ok whisky for the less entusiastic whisky drinkers in Norway compared to the price

Islay lover

Gave it a try because of the good price in Norway. Average for the money but not comparable to genuine Islay whisky.
