Macduff - Batch 1 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)

Macduff Batch 1 Bottling Note

That Boutique-y Whisky Company's first batch of single malt Scotch whisky from Macduff, featuring a graphic-novel-style label with a scene from the Scottish play that must not be named, just like Voldemort (whoops, sorry).

For those that haven't brushed up on their Shakespeare recently, Macduff is a character in Macbeth who ends up getting rather... choppy... near the end. The three witches also seem to have opened an inter-dimensional rift and pulled a bottle of Homer Simpson's favourite beverage into the 1600s, perfect for a 'Duff and Duff Boilermaker.

Batch 1 is a release of 340 numbered bottles.

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains, blended malts, single grains, bourbons and blends from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic-novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Cake d'oh dough, and aromatic, almost floral lemon zest.

Palate: Lemon icing, grapefruit, and a touch of Lilt (the totally tropical carbonated beverage).

Finish: Slightly drying with light sponge cake.

Overall: A delightful and quite refreshing whisky that would work well in a long drink too.

User Reviews of the Macduff - Batch 1 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)

This Beer Blog:

On nosing this whisky I am met with notes of lemon, tropical fruit, coconut, sea salt and a candy sugar sweetness. There are notes of herb and ginger in the background.

The flavour is soft with notes of lemon, coconut and sea salt. There are notes of green apple, pink peppercorn and a soft sweetness towards the end of the taste.

The finish is long with notes of green apple sweetness and grapefruit pith.

This whisky is challenging and rewards you with an plethora of interesting flavours which make this a fantastic dram!
