Nose: Nutmeg, almond, vanilla and sugary suede up front give way to latte, caramelised pear and muscovado. Figs and prunes then come to the fore, becoming slightly jammy, given enough time in the glass. Freshly sliced apple surfaces with a little water.
Palate: Dates, baked orange, cherry and baking spices. Walnuts and Brazil nuts too.
Finish: Very long with coffee, caramel and chewy fruit and nut.
Overall: A classic sherried Macallan that also has enough individual character to make it very special single cask whisky indeed.
