Distilled in 1965, this Macallan was matured in a first fill sherry butt and bottled under Gordon & MacPhail's Speymalt label. Extraordinary stuff.
Nose: Deep and refined with partially dried fruits, still sticky. Espresso, Corinth raisins, vanilla and rich mahogany.
Palate: Smooth dark caramel and cocoa. Eucalyptus. Orange bitters.
Finish: Buttery oak, vanilla and blackberry. Long with oak furniture and caramel that is just starting to catch.
Overall: Tremedous, rich, aged Speyside single malt.
