This was distilled at the Royal Lochnagar distillery in April 1997. It was aged for 14 years in a refill butt and then bottled at higher-than-average proof in August of 2011. A release of 460 bottles from Douglas Laing's Old Malt Cask range.
Nose: Baked pear with nutmeg, cinnamon and honey. Sultanas and vanilla.
Palate: Peach nectar, tarte tatin custard, toffee brittle and black pepper.
Finish: Long, herbal and spicy.
