Loch Lomond The Open 2021 Special Edition Reviews

Great Value For Money

A pale amber, this whisky has a lovely, deep fruit and vanilla scent. Apples, a hint of black berries and a very gentle light bonfire smoke. Very clingy in the glass too suggesting some older casks are in here.

In the mouth the first impact is a rich fudge like butterscotch, then you are hit with a deep ginger spice, a real mouth tingler this one.

The finish is quite long and warming, the vanilla notes combine with a tiny bit of chilli heat alongside that very gentle smoke again.
It's a very pleasant dram, not going to set the world on fire, but for the price it's excellent value for money, and possibly a good one to give someone who has never had a whisky with any smoke in at all.
