12 year old single malt Scotch whisky from Loch Lomond, whom are well known for being able to produce a wide variety of styles of whisky in their distillery in the Highland region. This particular expression was drawn from a selection of three cask types - bourbon casks, refill casks and recharged casks.
Nose: Creamy vanilla, with a touch of freshly baked apple turnover.
Palate: Brown sugar and five-spice. Orchard fruit notes continue, with a hint of yellow plum too.
Finish: Quite drying, though still sweet with vanilla.

Good Scotch but not my cup of tea. From the bottle description I thought it would be more smokey. But I'm partial to peat, if you don't like alotta smoke then try it!

Exquisite aroma. Sweet caramel and fruity notes. Let it breathe for a bit and allow the air to open the flavour. The sweet caramel followed by a nice burn to remind you this is a sophisticated dram with a decent level of alcohol content.

Surprising how few people miss the peach candy on the pallet, cradled by a smoky malt which lingers. Its price, its uniqueness, and its objective quality gives it a 95 in my book.

I can't fathom all the bad reviews. I think it is due to subjectivity of tastes. The whsiky itself is very very good. What's not good is the many people don't know how to drink it neat. Straight and simple: Decork the bottle, let it sit opened for an hour, pour a dram into wide brimmed glass and swirl it. Then try it. All dark liquors need contact with air (and with water) to release the flavor and mellow out. Lastly, most good whiskies and whiskeys are 45% ABV and higher. Ethanol is molecular flavor carrier, so the more the better. Enjoy!

The nose on this is absolutely delightful- beautifully fruity and fragrant. However I unfortunately find the palate to be quite dull, although I actively disliked it upon my first taste with it. It is certainly not an awful whisky and the second tasting brought about a gentle warming to the taste. I wish I could say more.

This is my first peated whisky in a long time and this reminds me in taste and nose of Copenhagen straight chewing tobacco. Not bad, but struggling to find more in it until water is added to bring sweeter fruit flavors. I’ve drank bourbon almost exclusively for 10 years until now so take it for what it’s worth.

Nose - creamy and heavy on apples. Very nicePalate - sweet, very sweet. Brown sugar. ApplesFinish- bit short but again apples, sweet.Overall, it's an alright little dram, for the price yeah, I'd pick one up it. Definitely worth it. Reminds me of glengoyne 12.

This really was a surprise given some negative reviews (that's whisky tasting for you). Lovely smooth oily mouth feel (much better than it sounds), got the smoky nose and interesting dry finish. A really complex whisky for the price. I'd fully agree with those that have rated it 4-5 stars.

First taste of this and very satisfying. Agree with the tasting notes with an emphasis on the creaminess. It also kicks nice in the back of the throat.

Beautifully complex. I would not pour it for a first timer. If you are a newer whisky drinker or prefer main stream blends you'll only get the "medicinal/grain alchohol" notes that the low reviews write of. 46% but feels like 48. Strong burn on the finish that you can really explore if you give her time. Full bodied oak that melows over time, cherries, baked apples in brown sugar.
