Laphroaig 24 Year Old 1990 - Old & Rare Platinum (Hunter Laing) Reviews

Mildly Peaty, Crisp Morning Creek & Cut Grass Drink

The nose was crisp like morning creek water with slight vanilla hints. Upon sipping strong peat (blended well with the drink) along with lemon and grass like notes hit me. Then a very intense bite from the alcohol (50.3%) but not of the head shaking sense - instead a clean focused strength. The finish was long and peaty, tingling and mildly cereal at the end. Long after drinking a slight floral note hit the back of my the throat and lingered. Overall, stunning, despite not being what I expected from an Islay Laphroaig single malt scotch - the peat and smoke was tempered.
