Laphroaig Vintage 1976
The summer of 1976 was said to be fantastic, not just for sandcastle builders and ice-cream sellers, but distillers were also very happy as that year produced some very fine barley to make some excellent whisky. Distilled during that summer, this 1976 vintage Laphroaig single malt is a properly unforgettable expression of Islay whisky with its heathery sweetness, delicate floral notes and a good helping of sea breeze. Legend has it that it was bottled in the latter part of the 1990s, and since then the presentation box has been a bit scuffed around the corners.
One for the future
Many years ago I was given a bottle of Laphroaig as a special treat .after trying a glass I put it in my. Drinks cupboard. It is still there.Forty years on.I really disliked the taste I like grouse etc but I found this unpalatable.
I will now go and try a drop.
Despite being tee total for the last two rears
