Laphroaig 18yo Darkness Bottling Note

A rather special addition to the Darkness range of sherry-finished whiskies. Sherried Laphroaig is always a treat, and this one's a real winner. The whisky was matured for 18 years, spending some of its time in a Pedro Ximénez octave, bringing heaps of rich spice and sticky fruit to the smoky, Islay single malt.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Potpourri and woody spice, with sweet sherry notes, and leather-bound old books.

Palate: The peat smoke takes on a sweet, barbecue quality, with shavings of dark chocolate, and sticky malt loaf.

Finish: Lingering smoke, supple tannins, and salted caramel sauce.
