Laphroaig 15 Year Old 2001 (cask 12787) - The First Editions (Hunter Laing)

Laphroaig 15yo 2001 Bottling Note

From the Hunter Laing First Editions range (which was given a redesign in the latter half of 2016) comes a 15 year old single malt distilled by Laphroaig on the Isle of Islay. This was distilled in 2001 and left to mature in a single refill butt until 2016, when it was bottled at natural cask strength without any chill-filtration or additional colours. 244 bottles were produced.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Seaweed and anise, with developing sweet touches of apple and blackcurrant in the background.

Palate: Quite punchy at full-strength, with classic medicinal peat at the fore. Orange and butterscotch too.

Finish: Coastal air lingers.

Laphroaig 15 Year Old 2001 (cask 12787) - The First Editions (Hunter Laing) Reviews

Incredible

Besides being Brilliant, wonderful, and quite possibly one of the best I have ever tried, this is a truly great Cask.
I would never be able to give tasting notes that would do this justice.

Incredibly Amazing

This was one of the most amazing Scotches I have ever tasted. Its Laphroaig's 10 big brother, but more refined and more pronounced. Very bold yet delicate in the balance of flavors.
