This was distilled at the Laphroaig distillery in February 2001 and aged for 11 years in a refill hogshead before bottling in April of 2012. This was a release of 289 bottles from Douglas Laing's Old Malt Cask range.
Nose: A creamy, spiced nose with notes of barley, soft, sweet peat and a touch of ginger.
Palate: Creamy and peaty. Big rushes of caramel sweetness and wood smoke, oily iodine-like notes and molasses.
Finish: Black treacle and spice.
