Lagavulin 10yo #2 TBWC Bottling Note

Yarr! It be time for a 'smokey cokey' wit' the ol' shipmates in Lagavulin Bay!

That's a Lagavulin single malt and cola to you or me - the sort of thing you might be offered by Diageo whisky ambassador Colin Dunn, or may be recommended by spirits writer Dave Broom in his fine book Whisky: The Manual, for example. You may wish to experiment with the vermouth-like qualities of flat cola, or you may simply wish to enjoy this fantastic 10 year old Boutique-y whisky from Islay neat. The most important thing is that you enjoy it, landlubber!

This is a release of 239 bottles.

"a near perfect Islay nose... gorgeous weight... a great whisky from a great distillery plucked at just the right age (indeed, being surprisingly youthful) and in all its naked beauty. Sublime."

- Jim Murray (96.5 Points)

"a totally gorgeous young Lagavulin, a true competition piece. I’m totally falling for it."

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Charmingly rugged with earthy peanut skin, peat and supporting custard notes.

Palate: Tamed by just a little water, this Islay malt is all about smoked, creamy hazelnuts.

Finish: Peaty Ferrero Rocher.

Lagavulin 10 Year Old - Batch 2 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company) Reviews

Raw, Ethereal, and really quite good.

Very different to all the other lagavula I've tried. This one, if anything, smacks much more of Ardbeg to me. IT's got that iodine-y seaweedy tarry-rope thing going on aplenty. Slight lemon-peel/pith bitterness just towards the end of the palate, but that only contributes to the fun. Aperitif whisky if ever there was one.
