Lagavulin 10yo TBWC Bottling Note

Here's the third batch of Lagavulin single malt independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. It's a 10 year old whisky from the Isle of Islay, and it boasts a hearty helping of BBQ smoke notes.

Now, if we asked you "What do pirates smoke?", you'd all know to say "CigARRRRs!", right? Well, what about if we asked you "What do pirates drink?" It's not rum, it's Smoky-Cokeys - a tasty combination of Lagavulin and Coke! Or at least, that's what the rather familiar-looking pirates on this label like to drinks...

Batch 3 is a release of 365 bottles.

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Soft, somewhat restrained smoke - though it is quite meaty at points too. A few hints of sugarcane and cut grass develop underneath the smoke.

Palate: Caramelised peach and white grape fruitiness. Soon enough, rich notes of toasty smoke develop.

Finish: Honey, tingling spices and notes of BBQ meat and peppercorn sauce.

Lagavulin 10 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company) Reviews

Linear precision at its best

So refreshing to taste a whisky from this distillery, that's, well, 'refreshing'! So little clutter in the way of getting to the heart of the distillate profile - a real pleasure to be able to taste that.
