Kilchoman 4 Year Old 2010 - Single Quarter Cask Release (cask 582/2010) (Master of Malt)

Kilchoman 4yo #582/2010 Bottling Note

The first ever quarter cask matured Kilchoman and it's a Master of Malt exclusive! The distillation date was 7th October 2010 and after almost five years maturing in a single quarter cask it was bottled on 5th September 2015. The smaller cask leads to much greater interaction between wood and liquid, which in turn has produced a whisky packed full of gorgeous flavour. The outturn was just 129 bottles - we can't wait for you to try it!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Smoky and complex golds and greens with rolled oats, vanilla, sticky flapjack, green apple skin and caramelised peaches as well as mint, marsh samphire and celery salt.

Palate: Sweet shortbread and more vanilla with sooty smoke coming to the fore. Green apple flesh, kiwi and honeydew melon develop.

Finish: Very long with honeyed embers.

Rummidgie

This is a fantastic whisky but not for the faint of heart!
If you love Laphroaig 10 but prefer Quarter Cask then this is the Kilchoman for you.
The nose is to die for and the mouth feel is tremendous. The finish is so long that it seems to go on forever.
The best Kilchoman yet!
