Kilchoman 100% Islay #2 Bottling Note

This is the second edition of the Kilchoman 100% Islay. The whisky is a 50:50 vatting of three and four year old whisky matured in ex-Bourbon casks. The whisky is entirely produced on the island of Islay: 'From Barley To Bottle'.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: The aroma is of fresh cut barley, pepper and malt with peat perfectly balanced against this to create a fresh and lively nose.

Palate: The palate is fairly sweet with barley sugar notes and with the addition of water the peat positively explodes.

Finish: The finish is long for a whisky of this age with notes of smoking hay and ground white pepper.

Overall: The peat is excellently balanced against the other sweeter flavours, there is also a peppery character which provides another dimension.

Best of the bunch!

Phenomenal!...A bottle on our table amongst some 60+ malts (and growing), and the hands-down winner selected by the group of Whisky enthusiasts assembled here from all over the world since it's introduction to the table. The next bottle of 2nd Edition is on order!...

Just One word: the greatest I ever tasted so far. I think it's better than Tallisker 18y. If you like the typical islay single malts it's a must!
