Kilbeggan Rye Bottling Note
An exciting limited edition release from the Kilbeggan distillery, made up of malted and unmalted barley and around 30% rye. The Irish whiskey is double distilled in copper pot stills, one of which was made in the early 1800s and is the oldest working pot still in the world. This is the first whiskey to be completely distilled and matured at the the oldest licensed distillery in Ireland since it was restored in 2010, full of creamy and spicy notes.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Milk chocolate chip cookies and warm porridge, fresh brioche, candied ginger and warming allspice balanced by refreshing zingy apple peel and green notes of freshly cut grass.
Palate: More apples are joined by fresh pears, with a kick of root ginger spice and creamy vanilla building into peppery rye spice.
Finish: A rather speedy finish, with a dash of oak.

Kilbeggan Rye Reviews
Interesting, off-beat and delicious.
Enjoyed this. I am increasingly fond of rye-based whiskey, and I was surprised this has only 30% - the rye pepper is noticeably present. Ginger and other spices too. Decent price too.
