Jura Journey Bottling Note

Journey is the entry level expression from the Isle of Jura range (which was relaunched in mid-2018). It was aged exclusively in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at 40% ABV. A tasty introduction to Jura's single malts.

Jura Journey Reviews

Honest reasonable priced whiskey. Utterly acceptable.

Perfectly acceptable malt. Too many pretentious primadonnas who honestly believe they are Gods gift to whisky tasting out there. One bloke reviewing this very acceptable whisky .....couldn't even spell whisky.... ( it has an 'h' in it mate!) When will these idiots realise taste is subjective. One man's bliss is another man's poison. Sort yourselves out....Jura is an honest whisky for the price...

Great Value for money regardless of Elitist opinions

Reading these reviews anyone would think it's a review for Marmite..
Either love it or hate it .
I am in the love it camp.
Smooth ,honeyed and good entry level Malt at a great price .
What are you expecting for around £22...the holy grail?

Fine for what is is.

Can't understand some of the reviews on here especially the lecture length one from 'Mault Man'! What do people expect for a £20-25 bottle of malt whisky??
It's perfectly pleasant without much sophistication. Clearly some don't have the nose or palate for Scotch malt whisky. If you want a bottle of malt in the cupboard for ordinary days then it's perfectly fine.
Headaches? I'm getting mine from reading some of the reviews!!😂

Well worth a try

A lovely whisky, better than most of the standard 12 yrs old malts I have tried ,

A thoroughly enjoyable whisky

When mixed with a touch of good spring water, this whisky comes alive. It starts with an oak taste, which is then taken over by honey, not unlike mead and finishes in this way. When drank neat, it is understandably a bit harsher on the tongue but still has an oak taste and less sweetness. A great dram with a good price

Better than I expected

After having read quite a few negative, and pretentious, reviews about this whisky I wasn't expecting to be pleasantly surprised on sipping a first dram as it is in fact a solid, subtly delicious and satisfying scotch.

It tastes like tea...or malted milk biscuits dipped into tea. It's drinkable but it gets a bit cloying. Needs more oak.

Great for a gift.

I read the reviews after buying it for a gift. I'm not a whisky drinker but it was great for a gift for someone who's going on a journey. I won't let the reviews stop me from buying it again as I'm not giving it to whisky not whiskey snobs.

Lacking in flavour and borderline undrinkable until it’s a squash like consistency with water. Avoid

Just not nice

I have been drinking whisky for about a year. I have tried many different whiskys from cheap Aldi's ones to 100 pound whiskys. This is the first ive come across that i just do not like. Im no Connoisseurs. But this Is just not nice. Not much going on with the flavour, the nose is very poor like paint stripper. Just not my cup tea. Not a whisky to start with if you are new to this.
