Jura 40yo 1976 #12264 Bottling Note

After four decades of maturation, this single malt Scotch whisky from the Jura distillery was deemed worthy of joining Douglas Laing's Xtra Old particular bottling range! It was distilled in December 1976 and left to age for 40 years in a refill barrel until November 2017, when it was bottled at cask strength. Only 33 bottles were produced.

Tasting Note by The Producer

Immediately fresh and sweet - the nose is barley rich and buttery with honey and a touch of tobacco. The palate bursts with vanilla and malt developing a peppery warmth, a tang of ginger and salted caramel. The long finish delivers golden syrup, gentle spice and damp earth with a slight smokiness.
