Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Toasted cereal, big barley and honey notes, Hob Nobs! Slightly vegetal peatiness, lemon and seaweed. Some beach bonfire but the peat isn't overpowering. Malty.

Palate: Wood spices, a bowl of porridge with honey and then demerara whilst sat beside a fireplace.

Finish: A touch of mocha, oak and perhaps old fashioned liquorice.

Overall: Peated Indian single malt whisky from John Distilleries that shows very well at what we would usually consider a young age.

Paul John Edited Reviews

Interesting sub tropical 4 Star dram

One of my favourites. There is lots going on. Don’t be put off by the age thing. A year in a barrel in the sub tropical heat of Goa must be equivalent to three in chilly Scotland. Whilst the speed of maturation might make for a different style it has its own complexity and sweetness. And just a hint of peat. The only ingredient not from India with a container or two shipped over each year from Scotland. The Classic cask strength is good too

Worth trying

Very drinkable. I get some of the oak but not much. Certainly something sweetish like honey. Very little peat, I would have liked a bit more there. Medium tingly finish. A good whiskey but I think too young to be a very good whiskey. Price for me is a little too much to justify buying another bottle but I’ll enjoy this just the same.

Gorgeous.

Loads going o in this dram. On the nose you're hit immediately with mint, really. Definitely pick out loads of flavours. Made me buy the Bold and Brilliance expressions

Perfect Peaty Sweetness

Out of Paul John's 3 Core Expression, I love Edited the most. It's an extremely alive single malt. It has enough complexity to keep experienced whisky drinkers busy and friendly enough for the newly initiated.

Edited was my first Single Malt Whisky, I absolutely love it.

Delightful with sufficient complexity

This is a lovely single malt whisky.
Thoroughly enjoyable on the nose, taste and finish!
It's hiding enough layers within itself to keep things interesting as you sip away.
Hint of smokiness is well balanced with the prevalent sweetness!
Surely worth a try!

sleeper malt !

outstanding balance in peat & malt flavors. shame that most will look down upon it due to it being made in india and that it has no age statement. going to stock up on them- ssshhh!
