A gorgeous Tennessee whiskey from Jack Daniel's, Silver Select is bottled at higher strength and the result is plenty of rich sweetness and complexity. Each barrel is aged in a different location within the warehouse for a better maturation.
Nose: Zesty citrus and pepper on the nose, with hints of crème caramel, cooked banana, burnt sugar and cinnamon.
Palate: Rich, thick palate with a big whack of sweet spices, vanilla, custard apples and pine resin. This develops on salt caramel and cedar.
Finish: Long, spicy finish with caramelised sugar and stewed fruit.

I am not a whiskey drinker but the first time I tasted it in Germany you I feel in love with the taste and could not believe the smoothest of this. Love it will continue to but and serve in my home.

I've tried a few but Im not really a big bourbon fan, they never seem to have the variation and subtelty that proper whisky has, they somehow seem to be ok for cocktails and for kids or those that dont know better to put coke in, but for a change i though id pay a tad more and see if things changed the higher up the bracket you got, and have to say i was pleasantly surprised at this one. It's a lovely smooth mouthfeel with a spicy taste with a fair bit going on to savour, just as the MoM bottling note suggests. I wont be in a rush to finish it as it will make a good alternative on those nights when i fancy something different, and would certainly consider buying another quality bourbon - the old adage of you get what you pay for sure applies here buddy !!!

Never been a fan of #7, always found it too harsh, tried Gentleman Jack, can take it or leave it, have a bottle of Single Barrel which I enjoy so tried this, being somewhat new to the world of whisky I can not go into details of the flavours etc others can, but this stuff is fantastic!! Takes priority over Single Barrel, but will ensure I have both on my shelf at all times :)

Can't really say I am big whiskey drinker, but I have had a few bottles over the years, Jamesons, bushmills, JD, powers, Middleton, the usual suspects. I got a present of a bottle of this last year and looking at 50% on the label I was convinced it would be overpowering but no it is like liquid gold, The downside is I drank the bottle in 2 weeks, I had a bottle of Middleton that lasted me 8 months. I have since gone through 4 bottles of the silver select and will continue to buy more, ok it is expensive (though half the price of Middleton) but it really is worth the money.

I came across this by chance,it's a well balanced and approachable American whisky not over powering by its volume,it's sometimes hard to find and at fifty pounds a bottle there's some wonderful Malt whiskys a tenner cheaper on the market, but it has travelled a long way, recommend .

bought this duty free while on a cruise to the Bahamas. how is this 100 proof? How is it bold yet mild. Sweet enough to wear it finishes with a honey flavor for me. Oh I wish we could buy this state side.

Fantastic Whiskey!! Agree with the review above, so smooth for a 50%. Seems a short finish but give it a second and it returns in a explosion of spice. Just knock the central heating down if you're having a few!!

I had it neat like all my other whiskeys and to be honest a little warmed up in my hand, I have to say I didnt notice it was 50% alcohol until I read on the bottle!

I received this from my RWM(233). Thank you so much for something so special. I believe this to be the best I have sampled for a very long time. If you need to buy someone something special this is it DR.

After trying the gentleman and single barrel variants I assumed it was again going to be another higher abv standard tasting jack.Wrong ! This is the king of all jacks and has more layers of taste than all the other jacks, reminds me of the smell of a hot coals sauna and pine.Bar far the contemplating bottle, in my top 5 for sure

My sister bought me a bottle of this on one of her trips, and it´s a fantastic Whiskey. Rich and thick on the palate with vanilla, toffee and some oak..Really sweet. If you enjoy Jack Daniel´s single barrel, you got to try this! The only Tennessee Whiskey I like better is George Dickel no 12. Skål!!
