Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Bottling Note

You all know Jack Daniel’s and have no doubt seen its classic whiskey in bars and shops all over the world. But the Tennessee-based distillery is also home to lots of premium expressions, like the single barrel bottling you see before you. A premium version of Jack Daniel's, each of these comes from a cask specially selected by the master distiller. These are chosen for their suitability as standalone spirits, resulting in a whiskey full of richness and complexity.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Good body with plenty of toasty oak, there are notes of corn and lovely cereal sweetness, there is a good smoke note, a little spice and toffee.

Palate: Full and mouth-filling. There are notes of cereal sweetness, the rye is in evidence with a touch of cigar box and nut oils, a little spice and an aniseed character.

Finish: Good length with a hint of citrus and plenty of cereal sweetness.

Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Reviews

Love this stuff, it’s my favourite whiskey by jd, not a gulping whiskey it’s a sipping one, each sip is bursting with flavour, so much better then old no.7

Try it

It's not for your average whiskey drinkers who like bells or normal jack. It's a sipping whiskey not something you neck at party's with plenty of charcoal oakey goodness love it nit to be confused with gentleman jack which has a more caramel taste.

I'm a scotch whisky man but also like JD and tried a few of the more expensive bottles over the years, and the first single barrel select i tried was quite good, the 2nd not so, same with the 3rd so i don't buy it anymore, as i get a normal bottle for under £20 on rollback at the supermarket (£16 at xmas lol), would feel a fool paying 2.5 times the price for a small improvement, but if you have more money than sense then go for it, I don't

Don’t wreck this by adding coke!

Okay, it’s Jack Daniel’s….but it is a smooth, easy to drink, pleasant Jack Daniel’s. Don’t wreck this one by adding coke! Enjoy it neat or on the rocks. Is it worth nearly£45? Probably not but it is still a good, relatively cheap Tennessee Whiskey (not sure this qualifies as a Bourbon!).

Don't listen to the snobs who turn up their noses to anything 'Jack Daniels', judged objectively, this is a very enjoyable whiskey, and I highly recommend.

not worth a price

Do not recommend

Tasted it and couldn't move forward. I tend to drink Elijah Craig and as of recent Angel's Envy. JD Select was not good. I hate to dispose of it, but I will. Scent of turpentine/acetone.

Well recommend

A very smooth and delightful whiskey with a delicate smoky flavour with a hint of toffee notes one of the best Jack daniels whiskies I've ever tried.
