Jura One for the Road Bottling Note

A limited edition bottling from the Isle of Jura distillery, released to mark the retirement of their Distillery Manager Willie Cochrane. This 22 year old single malt was finished in Pinot Noir casks and bottled at cask strength without any of that chill-filtration or additional colouring.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Producer's Tasting Note:
Nose: Freshly baked bread, moist walnut cake, over-ripe pineapple and vanilla. A whisper of black bitter chocolate, Java coffee and tangy macaroons to finish.
Palate: Ginger, cassis, frangipane and caramelised peaches. Glazed nectarines, pears in red wine and soft cranberries.
Finish: A finale of Turkish delight, fig syrup and cherry cake.

Isle of Jura One for the Road Reviews

Makes Mr Cochrane proud!

I was lucky enough to be poured a dram of this at the distillery last summer. It was intense yet smooth, with a lovely, long finish that lingered like an Indian summer. I recall it was a bit out of my price range, and I ended up with the 2016 Tastival, one of their festival whiskies, instead. (That was simply fabulous, and while not cheap, was still affordable.)
