Old grain is great - but how about some Xtra Old grain, eh? This is a 53 year old Invergordon single grain bottled for the Xtra Old Particular range by Douglas Laing. It was distilled back in May 1966 and left alone in a refill barrel for 53 years, before being bottled in May 2019, and bottled with an outturn of only 121 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Producer
The nose shows milk chocolate, a creamy vanilla quality and a slightly waxy note. The palate is distinctly mocha'd in style developing to buttered gingerbread and spiced oak. The elegant finish brings pastry, marinated fruit and toasted cereals.
