Highland Park 27 Year Old 1984 - Directors' Cut (Douglas Laing)

Highland Park 27 1984 Bottling Note

Bottled as part of Douglas Laing's premium (and very handsomely packaged) Director's Cut range, this stellar malt was distilled in 1984 before a 27 year maturation in a single cask. A really whipstonker of a dram (and we don't use the term "whipstonker" lightly, you know.)

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: The nose pertains to a really lovely "aromatic" pipe tobacco. There are notes of maple spice, cedar, honey, deliciously sweet tobacco flavours and a little fig and potpourri.

Palate: Toffee apples, butterscotch and cedar. Rum spices, salt caramel, tarry ropes, a hint of soft smoke.

Finish: Long and madly complex with heather honey, soft wood smoke, just a hint of sticking plasters and black treacle.
