Highland Park 18yo Bottling Note

Purchase this bottle and you could win a VIP trip to the Highland Park Distillery!*

Highland Park's 18 Year Old enjoyed a redesign in 2017, receiving livery inspired by the wood carvings from Urnes Stave Church and a new sub-name, "Viking Pride". The Orkney single malt remains the same as before - rich, complex and supremely delicious.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: A profusion of ripe floral notes and fresh blossom with a delectable fruit salad. Notes of honeyed exotic fruits with a little botrytis.

Palate: Creamy and full with fruit conserves and espresso. A creaminess with cinnamon and allspice. Notes of toffee with thick black forest honey with a touch more citrus.

Finish: Long and well sugared with a herbal edge.

Highland Park 18 Year Old - Viking Pride Reviews

1st October 2021

What happened?

Tastes nothing like it used to. It used to be balanced and beautiful. I'd pass on this one.

20th August 2021

NOT what it used to be.

What the hell happened to Highland Park 18?

Beautiful. Smooth & tasty. For the price, I dont think it can be beaten.

Not as good as it was

I first tastes an 18y Highland park on a miserable winter night in a forgotten Scottish hamlets, and it stuck with me forever. Sadly - though the numbers match this is an inferior version of a once great product. Tasty - but not £100 tasty

28th April 2021

A joke at this price.

HP 18 used to be REALLY good, and expensive at £100.

Now.... not so good. It's like the leftover casks from HP 12 which have not sold... and were then bottled a few years later but not much better.

No pride in this bottle.

17th March 2021

Not stocking up this one, 1 bottle is enough

adequate, but nothing special, one dimensional, almost- strong leather, saddle taste, a bit orange zest

26th February 2021

Uninspiring and overpriced

If it was a car it would be a VW, competent but uninspiring, it didn't live up to its price point for me.

I never thought Highland Park 18 would taste thin in mid palette, limited range in aroma, and the peat overwhelming a light-medium weight malt product. Good to great single malts balance the mouthfeel and aromas in harmony. This product lacks in all departments excepting the price point. This best of effort achievement will do very well masquerading as high end offering from Jameson or Canadian Club!

14th November 2020

The new name Viking Pride (who are you trying to impress?) is just lame. The new bottle design also is lame (as if you were masquerading a cheap tequila via a way too fancy package).
Worse still, the whisky does not taste as amazing as it once did. Maybe it’s you tarted up the product that need to be tarted up. Or maybe it’s truly off. Won’t ever be buying again.
