A popular brand of bourbon from Kentucky, U.S.A., where it has been produced since 1783. Rich with vanilla and caramel on the nose which continues on the palate, it's produced by the Heaven Hill company in Kentucky.
Nose: Caramel apples, spearmint, black pepper. A light hint of corn sits in the background. A slightly spicy kick of clove.
Palate: Raisins and walnuts. Creamy vanilla at the core, with an underpinning hint of vegetal oak. Zesty orange oil.
Finish: Quite spicy, with drying notes of cinnamon bark and pine nuts.

It's a good bourbon and a good value. I like the spicy qualities of the nose, palate, and finish particularly the latter. My preference is for more complexity in my whiskies though this is one that I would consider sipping again though I probably would not go out of my way to get it.

I am no bourbon expert nor do or have I gone taste testing with different brands and flavors. But I have had brands that cost much more than this cost (Woodford, Makers Mark) and to me the taste and experience with Evan Williams is equal with those. This is always my go to brand for bourbon when I am at the store.

I was never really a big whisk(e)y drinker until a year or so ago so my palate isn't as developed as most people's. However I found Evan Williams Extra to be a superb whiskey, definitely not a Blanton's, and the price shows it. Its best for a budget, right there next to Jim Beam White. It has a similar taste to that of JB White, a nice oakiness with a little sweetness that takes on that of almost brown sugar/caramel. And I find JB White to be rather smooth and I can drink it straight with no issue, however this whiskey had a little bit more bite to it, very good nonetheless. If you make any mixed drinks this is definitely the budget bourbon to buy. I think the people from the US was saying its about $11 USD, and it goes for just under $30 Canadian.(EastCoastLiving)

Anyone whinging about this whiskey needs their head read - this is one of the best value spirits of ANY kind that I have ever come across. I am the bar manager of a whiskey bar and I also have a whisk(e)y blog, so, as you can imagine, I taste a LOT of whiskeys and whiskies. For the money, you absolutely cannot fault this. It absolutely blows some of its vastly more expensive cousins out of the water. I absolutely guarantee that if you blind tasted this, you would rank it against some whiskeys at 4/5 times the price. Unbelievable product, ignore the snobby commenters who are swayed by the price. Tastes like peaches, honey and has an oily mouthfeel, which one review below lists as a negative ><

Maybe just a shade better than the bog standard Jim Beam. If you can afford something more up-market, don't bother with either one.

i give a 6 because of its wondrous aroma but that first sip is mabey caramel, maybe vanilla but you cant tell because of the alcohol taste override. but i guess you get what you paid for, i paid 13 for a 1L. only reason i chose to buy so bottom shelf was because the "ultimate beverage challenge" rated this product a 93/100. yes sir this whiskey is not for the faint of heart.

saw a lot of good reviews so i decided to grab a bottle; and at this low a price, i didnt even think twice. I like it. it tastes like the typical bourbon, vanilla/maple and all, and for this price it's tough to beat. My only problem though is the mouthfeel, it feels a little like oil and water and something i can only describe as "liquid styrofoam" (it sort of feels like it's sqeaking) when you let it sit in your mouth for some time. it is good, but it probably wasnt made to be something to think about so much.Main theme of this thing is bang for buck.-M.G. Sweet nose, lots of toffee and butterscotch as well as oakiness. Flavors are rich and varied, the woody influences nicely counterbalanced by the nutty sweetness of the toffee and caramel influences. The finish includes a noticeable kick but it's not overwhelming. This bourbon has a perfect mixture of sweetness and spicy notes and rewards thoughtful relaxed sipping. And on top of all that, it's delightfully inexpensive. $11US for a 750mL bottle and allthis complex flavor and richness? SCORE!
